Day 1: Hanoi - Arrival

Our Hanoi Voyages guide will greet you at the airport with a sign bearing your name. Then, a private car transfer to your hotel and check-in. Your first exploration of Hanoi will be by cyclo (rickshaw) and on foot.

Day 3: Hanoi - Nghia Lo

150 km – 4 hours drive

Very early departure, to reach Nghia Lo, a 4-hour drive away, in the Mu Cang Chai region.

Nghia Lo is in a basin between the Red River and the Black River, surrounded by mountains sculpted with terraced rice paddies.

It is also the ethnic cradle of the Black Thai people.

Tea plantations, harvesting techniques, drying, will justify an informative stop.

Warm encounters with the Thai people, discovering their habitat and their way of life from another time.

Visit to the local market in Nghia Lo.

Day 4: Nghia Lo - Mu Cang Chai

100 km – 3 hours

Crossing Van Chan in the Tu Le valley is a delight!

Surrounded by three high mountains, Khau Pha, Khau Than, and Khau Song, the valley is nothing but a rice paddy!

The breathtaking spectacle of the terraced rice paddies reaches its peak on the return journey to the small H’mong villages of Nga Ba Kim and La Pan Tan

Day 5: Mu Cang Chai - Sapa

150km – 3h

Heading towards Than Uyen along a beautiful winding road on the mountainside, the cradle of countless rice paddies is surrounded by impressive peaks.

In Binh Lu, visit the villages of the Lu and Tay ethnic minorities.

The route to Sapa is a succession of rice paddies sculpted into the landscape and tea plantations. We crossed the Tram Ton pass and stopped to admire the beautiful Silver Waterfall before reaching Sapa at an altitude of 1650m.

Day 6: Arrival in Sapa - Hiking

A day of hiking around Sapa , meeting ethnic minorities, in the heart of the rice paddies

  • The village of Y Linh Ho, Muong Hoa valley, is the starting point for hikes.
  • A 6km hike through terraced rice paddies to the village of Lao Chai. This small village is inhabited by the Black H’Mong minority. Along the way, you’ll meet the village women in their traditional dress.
  • A short 2km walk to the village of Ta Van, inhabited by the Giay ethnic group. The inhabitants of Ta Van practice stone and wood carving.

Day 7: Bac Ha Market - Hanoi

  • A visit to the large Bac Ha market, held on Sundays, is recommended: it’s the most colorful market in northern Vietnam. Very touristy, but also very authentic. Ethnic minorities like the Flower Hmong, Tay, and Phu La gather there, as the market is a place for social and commercial exchanges.
  • Visit to the baroque palace of the H’Mong chief, Hoang A Tuong, built in 1920 and very well restored.
  • Visit to another village – Ban Pho Village. Meeting with colorful Hmong and Tay people.
  • In the afternoon, transfer by private car to Hanoi.

Day 8: Halong - Cruise and overnight on board

Private car transfer to Halong Bay

  • Magical Halong Bay … A dreamlike setting that has earned Halong Bay its UNESCO World Heritage status. Let yourself be charmed aboard a magnificent traditional-style junk, with an overnight stay on board. A romantic and unforgettable getaway!
  • And its legend … Halong means “descending dragon”: according to legend, a dragon descended into the bay to tame the sea currents. With the violent movements of its tail, it deeply carved into the mountain. Then, it plunged into the sea. The water level rose, revealing only the highest peaks.

Day 1:

  • At Halong port, board the junk to begin the cruise
  • Lunch in the onboard restaurant with succulent seafood caught in the bay
  • Navigation with a beautiful route
  • Discover the wonders of the bay: coves, islets, caves, beaches

Day 9: Cruise - Hanoi - Flight - Hue

Under the early morning sun, in an enchanting setting and astonishing tranquility, you will enjoy breakfast. Explore the floating fishing village of Vung Vieng.

The morning will be spent sailing, with a return to port scheduled for late morning. A brunch lunch on board the junk will conclude this magnificent cruise.

The entire crew will greet you and thank you upon arrival at the port at 11:00 AM. Your driver will be waiting for you there. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hue. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 10: Hue - Imperial City UNESCO World Heritage Site

Upon disembarking from the train, discover the many historical treasures of Hue, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.

  • Visit to the Imperial City of the Nguyen Dynasty with citadel, pagodas, imperial tombs.
  • Visit to the An Hien garden house to discover the traditional and typical architecture of old Hue.
  • Visits to the Mausoleums of the Nguyen Dynasty, very pretty complexes made up of small ponds, pavilions, temples, courtyards.
  • Visit to the Mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang who reigned from 1820 to 1840.
  • Strolling through Dong Ba market, mingling with the local crowd.
  • At lunchtime, our guide is available to take you to one of our favorite places to taste the specialties of Hue.

Day 11: Hue – via Danang – Hoian

122 km – 3.5h – 4h drive

The route to Hoi An takes the Mandarin Road and crosses the Hai Van Pass. With a breathtaking view overlooking a turquoise sea bordered by golden sand, the Lang Co peninsula reveals its full beauty, with the small boats of its fishermen visible in the distance.

  • A detour to Danang, to visit the Cham Sculpture Museum. The Cham are an ethnic group in India.
  • Discovery of the marble mountain also known as “the mountain of 5 hills”.

Hoi An is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • A delightful stroll through the old town of Hoi An, a former trading port. Wandering through the alleyways, one discovers a rich architectural heritage made up of charming, very old, low houses with colorful facades and wooden balconies, Chinese assembly houses, temples, pagodas, museums, and the Japanese covered bridge.

Day 12: A day of flavors and well-being

A WONDERFUL, INSTRUCTIVE, FUN, AND JOYFUL DAY

Away from the hustle and bustle, in a peaceful setting, your wonderful, fun, and educational day will begin with

  • A bike ride to the village of Cam Kim where you will discover the secrets of making the famous woven mats used as mattresses.
  • Visit the water coconut village of Cam Thanh. Take a ride in a round basket boat called a THUYEN THUNG! Made of woven bamboo, it’s crafted in just one day! With your rower, surrounded by lush vegetation, and to the leisurely, rhythmic beat of the Thuyen Thung, you’ll experience a truly delightful moment!
  • Then it will be time to “GET YOUR HANDS ON” by preparing your lunch with a family we have selected. Guided by the hostess, you will be introduced to some Vietnamese dishes, which you will then enjoy.
  • This pleasant encounter with the local family will conclude with a foot massage using Hoi An herbs.
  • You will always return to your hotel by bicycle.

Day 13: Hoi An - Flight - HCM city

Private car transfer to Danang airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. You will be met upon arrival at the airport by your Ho Chi Minh City guide to begin your sightseeing.

  • Visit to Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office,
  • Visit to the Reunification Palace, former residence of the President of South Vietnam until April 30, 1975, when North Vietnamese soldiers made a brutal incursion with their tanks, thus symbolizing the end of the war against the United States.
  • Visit to the Thien Hau Pagoda located in the heart of Chinatown,
  • A visit to Ben Thanh, the largest covered market in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, which is colorful and very lively.

Day 14: Mekong - Can Tho

260km – 4.5 hours drive

The Mekong Delta is an extremely fertile region, crisscrossed by water and land, canals, streams, and verdant checkerboard rice paddies whose rice has a reputation for being the most fragrant in the country.

Departure for the lush landscapes of the Mekong Delta. Ferry crossing to Ben Tre and boarding for a boat trip on the natural Xep canal. Afterwards, horse-drawn carriages will take you on a pleasant 20-minute ride through the villages.

Visit an orchard to taste fruit and sample honey tea. Then, board rowing sampans to navigate a smaller canal and from there, a boat will take you to Turtle Island.

During lunch, you will discover the region’s specialty by enjoying “elephant ear fish” which is eaten with rice pancakes and a typical sauce.

Day 15: Mekong - Ho Chi Minh City - Departure

An early morning cruise amidst the boats and canoes, to soak up the atmosphere of the Cai Rang floating market , the largest in the delta.

Visit a colonial house and an orchard where you can taste exotic fruits and see plantations of durians, mangosteens and orange trees.

Visit the century-old house in Binh Thuy. This excursion will allow you to appreciate the peaceful setting in which some inhabitants of the Delta live.

The cruise ends in Can Tho with a glimpse of the market halls, mingling with the local population.

Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon.

Free time for personal activities until your transfer to the airport by private vehicle (with driver, without guide) for your international departure flight.
