Great news for nature lovers and adventure seekers: Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, in Quang Tri province in central Vietnam, has just picked up two honours at the World Travel Awards 2026 for Asia, Oceania and the Indian Ocean. The ceremony took place in the Maldives on September 27, bringing together tourism destinations and brands from across the region.

According to the park’s management board, Phong Nha-Ke Bang was named “Asia’s Leading National Park 2026” and “Vietnam’s Leading Nature Destination 2026”. For a park that is still relatively young as a tourist destination, it is a double recognition that says a lot about how far it has come. The awards underline the destination’s growing international appeal, built on its striking karst landscapes, spectacular caves, underground rivers and rich biodiversity.

These new titles also reflect the park’s approach of developing nature tourism in harmony with conservation. Karst mountains, caves, underground rivers and tropical forests make it an ideal playground for adventure and for getting close to nature, whether you come for a gentle day of exploring or a more demanding expedition. Protecting these fragile landscapes while welcoming visitors has become the park’s guiding principle, and this latest recognition suggests the balance is being noticed.

This is not the park’s first win, either. Phong Nha-Ke Bang was already named “Asia’s Leading National Park” by the World Travel Awards in 2025, so the 2026 result confirms its position among the continent’s top natural destinations rather than marking a one-off success.
The latest honours should raise the profile of Phong Nha-Ke Bang and of Quang Tri’s tourism sector on international markets. They are also expected to support the development of high-quality, sustainable tourism products, from guided cave explorations to experiences that put visitors in closer contact with the surrounding landscape.
Visitor numbers are already heading in the right direction. In the first six months of the year, the national park welcomed more than 587,000 visitors, up 14% on the same period last year. With two new international awards now added to its name, Phong Nha-Ke Bang looks well placed to attract even more travellers in the months ahead, especially those looking for a destination where adventure and nature take centre stage.
