Explore lush national parks in Thailand

Thailand in September is one of the best times to see the country’s natural landscapes at their most vibrant. Thailand in September offers a more peaceful beach experience, with fewer tourists and lush tropical scenery after the rains. While the Andaman coast can be wetter and the seas rougher, the Gulf of Thailand often enjoys lighter showers and calmer waters, ideal for swimming, snorkeling and relaxing by the shore.

Popular beaches like Patong, Railay, or Maya Bay may not have the best weather this month, so we recommend alternative spots that are better suited for the season.

  • Haad Rin in Koh Phangan

  • Sairee Beach in Koh Tao with scuba diving

Rainy afternoons are ideal for savoring comforting local dishes, from spicy curries to steaming bowls of noodle soup.

📍 Recommended seasonal treats include mangosteen, rambutan, fresh river prawns and green curry with young coconut shoots.

Take part in indoor cultural experiences

Visit floating markets and night markets

Floating and night markets take on a calmer, more inviting vibe in September, with fewer crowds and cooler, rain-washed air. Morning floating markets are perfect for sampling fresh fruits, local snacks and enjoying boat rides along scenic canals, while night markets come alive with live music, handcrafted goods and endless dining choices.

📍 Recommended floating market you can’t miss:

  • Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

We just had a northern Vietnam tour with Hanoi Voyages, touring Van Ho, Pu Luong, Ninh Binh, we had a superb time. Sophie c/o with Hanoi Voyages was so helpful, gave us so many valuable advice and make sure everything goes smoothly from the beginning of the planning till we return to our home country. The driver Mr Dong, the guide Mr Quach Tan (also guide from minority village) are amazing. We cant wait to visit Vietnam again with them.

I wanted to travel to Halong Bay, Vietnam and the major attractions in Thailand and looked to find a competent travel agency to plan and execute the trip. Hanoi voyages was what my top choice from my research. End to end they customized my trip based on my unique requirements and helped with travel, tourist guides and accommodations. The hotels were really good in each of the four cities I stayed in and the guides took care of me extremely well. The trip went off without a glitch, thanks to Hanoi voyages. I would strongly recommend them for anyone from the US traveling to Vietnam and Thailand.
